China Shipping Container Line Company to begin service to US Gulf Coast

As the world’s 8th-largest container shipping company, China Shipping Container Line Company will soon expand it’s reach by commencing new operations to the US Gulf Coast and Florida. China Shipping has arranged a charter slot for itself on French shipping line CMA-CGM’s weekly Pacific Express 3 that ports at APM Terminals Mobile (Alabama), APM Terminals Jacksonville (Florida), and Miami’s South Florida Container Terminal.

APM Terminals Americas region, Chief Commercial Officer Jonathan Goldner, said, “We are very pleased to welcome China Shipping as a new customer of APM Terminals in Mobile, Jacksonville and Miami, and look forward to further strengthening our relationship with this important global carrier.

The Shanghai-based China Shipping maintains a fleet of roughly 150 vessels, with a combined total capacity of around 560,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs.) In addition to the U.S. ports that China Shipping will stop at during the new service, it will also make calls at Shanghai, Hong Kong, Xiamen, Busan (South Korea), and Manzanillo (Panama).
