Maersk Will Become Integrated Transport And Logistics Company

October 11, 2016 12:10 am Published by

The restructuring at Maersk Group will see a much closer cooperation between Maersk Line, Damco and APM Terminals with the intention of becoming "an integrated transport and logistics company."

According to company officials, Maersk Line will focus efforts on gaining market share organically, as well as consolidation through acquisitions, "provided they created value." There was no specific mention any potential acquisition targets, although market rumors have suggested that Maersk may takeover Hyundai Merchant Marine and/or "K" Line.

We need to be able to grow market share organically and we will also consider acquisitions if the right opportunities develop.- CEO Soren Skou

By bringing Maersk Line, APM Terminals, and Damco into the same Transport division, the Maersk will be provided an opportunity to increase the cross-selling of existing products and services throughout their own supply chain.
