Port of Singapore Authority (PSA) will be contracting the first phase of its terminal at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT). by the end of 2017. The terminal which will have a total capacity of 4.8 million TEUs, will be ready with 6 cranes or 1 million TEUs by December's end in 2017. The total capacity of the terminal is 12 cranes.

The entire construction is divided into two phases of 2.4 million TEUs. The entire project is being developed with an overall investment of close to Rs 8000 crore out of which the cost of the first phase is Rs 4,719 crore.
The remaining capacity of the terminal will be constructed over the next four years and is expected to get completed by the end of 2021.
