Westports Holdings Bhd saw its net profit rise 36.1 percent, to RM210.98 million, for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2017. The company's full-year net profit expanded 5.6 percent from RM616.83 million to RM651.51 million, with revenue rising 2.6 percent from RM2.04 billion to RM2.09 billion.

Overall container volume rose 9 percent to 9 million TEU. Intra-Asia trade showed favourable momentum with strong growth as throughput expanded 8 percent, thereby increasing its contribution to Westports' overall volume to 57 percent.
